To me, I didn’t find the “how rich we are” something to be proud of. I was more proud of HK being a multi-cultural, world city, 5/

That was apparently very insulting for many HKers. People wrote about how rich HK was, how it had the highest Mercedes per capita, 3/

I told her my story of growing up in the 80’s proud, but later in college someone from China asked “What r u HK people so proud of?” 2/

Our young researcher was telling me how disappointing the HK gov is and wondered if older people had thought HK would turn out like this… 1/

This why it’s so hard to learn Cantonese. “Let me introduce u to KNOW a friend” Vs “Let me introduce u to EAT a friend” is only intonation
